Recently, computer aided molecular design has been recognized as an effective method to study new compounds in both life and material sciences.

Study of new materials at a molecular level is an ultramodern technology which is essential to improve competitive power in the worldwide contest of high tech industries. Support from industry as well as governments has increased a lot during the past few years.

The Research Institute of Bioinformatics and Molecular Design(BMD) has been established through the passionative support and collaboration of many people in scientific institutes, companies, and universities. It has highlighted the critical role played by computational methods both in pure and applied scientific research.

We have targetted the traing required for materials design and the exchange of information on new compounds through collaborative research among institutes and industrial companies. It is my belief that BMD has put a large effort into being a center of effective research it capable of making a remarkable foot print at both national and international levels of science.
